We are six weeks into our regular library visits and starting to settle into routines. Weekly visits help build reading expectations and offer ample access to our materials so that even the most reluctant reader can be encouraged to find a book they like.
We are featuring scary and spooky books this month, to the delight of many of our readers!
The library program does more than just check out books to patrons. Ms Margocs is going into fifth grade classrooms to teach research skills in support of their Journey Box projects. Books are pulled and online resources curated in hyperdocs for grade level IB units and curricular needs.
This is a checkout week for first through fifth grades, which means they get the full half hour to choose great books and have some time to read. Ms Margocs has been reading her own books alongside classes, too; modeling reading is so important for our scholars to witness.
Read-alouds this week:
PreK scholars are counting in their classrooms, and counting colorful sheep in the Story Castle.
Kindergarteners are on an adventure with Randy, the Badly Drawn Horse, one of our Armadillo Readers' Choice books.
Our Fall Scholastic Book Fair opens in less than three weeks! Take a peek at our interactive flyer to start making your reading wishlist! Just click on the picture below to access the flyer.
